Three miners killed, one rescued in Duki

QUETTA: Three coal miners were killed, while one was rescued after they became trapped in a mine due to mud-sliding in Duki district, officials said on Thursday.

Chief mines inspector Abdul Ghani Baloch said that four miners working inside the private mine were trapped on Wednesday night when a mudslide hit.

Workers from the Mines Rescue Department who reached the area after the incident started rescue operations and managed to save one miner, while three other miners could not be recovered.

Rescue workers, however, eventually managed to reach them and recovered their bodies after 16 hours.
