‘Accelerating progress’: ELFA partners with Bykea to empower riders with affordable, sustainable mobility
A landmark partnership between EV Technologies and Bykea was formally announced at a recent event in Karachi, following the success of an extensive pilot programme. During the pilot, a cohort of Bykea driver-partners tested ELFA electric bikes across a range of real-world conditions and gave strong endorsements for their performance, reliability and suitability for local roads.
“This partnership isn’t just about selling bikes; it’s about improving lives and accelerating progress,” stated Huma Yahya Khattak, the chief executive officer (CEO) of EV Technologies. “Our riders are the backbone of urban mobility in Pakistan, navigating challenging roads and demanding schedules. We’ve engineered ELFA bikes with them in mind, strong enough for local conditions, smart enough for their growing needs and efficient enough to dramatically reduce their monthly burden of fuel and maintenance.”
The partnership goes beyond product distribution. Bykea driver-partners can now access ELFA electric bikes through tailored instalment plans. The riders can also save up to Rs8,000 each month, due to energy efficiency and lower maintenance costs. For those who rely on daily long-distance commuting to earn a living, these savings significantly increase take-home income and provide much-needed financial stability.
Rafiq Malik, the chief operating officer (COO) of Bykea, highlighted the importance of the shift,“At Bykea, our driver-partners are our priority. With fuel costs soaring and urban congestion worsening, the move to electric isn’t just strategic; it’s essential. This transition isn’t about technology for technology’s sake; it’s about putting money back in drivers’ pockets while reducing emissions for cleaner cities. After 6 months of rigorous testing with our driver-partners, we’ve found a solution that delivers real durability and long-term savings – a bike built to withstand Pakistan’s roads while cutting fuel costs by up to 70 per cent. This is how we future-proof our livelihoods and our environment together.”
The ELFA EV125, the flagship model, has been developed through extensive research and development for Pakistan’s diverse terrain and demanding riding conditions. It has proven its performance across long-distance routes, rough roads, steep inclines and waterlogged areas, while comfortably supporting two passengers and their belongings. The EV125 is powered by locally manufactured Atom Power ATP-series lithium-ion batteries, delivering enhanced performance, extended range, faster charging and intelligent tracking – all tailored to the needs of Pakistani riders.
ELFA also offers comprehensive aftersales support, with a best-in-class warranty, prompt customer service and readily available spare parts to ensure peace of mind for all riders.
This forward-looking collaboration between EV Technologies and Bykea reflects a shared commitment to advancing clean and energy-efficient mobility while making electric transport more accessible to a wider population – including those who have traditionally found such innovations financially out of reach.
