Fatima Fertilizer’s ‘Sarsabz Tabeer’ launches healthcare initiative in collaboration with MASH and Punjab govt
As part of its continued commitment to empowering rural women and female farmers, Fatima Fertilizer, under its flagship Sarsabz Tabeer initiative, has launched a new health-focused intervention in collaboration with Mukhtar A. Sheikh Memorial Welfare Hospital (MASH) and the Punjab government.
The first free medical camp under this new initiative was successfully held on June 26 at THQ Hospital Kehrorpaka, Lodhran, specifically targeting underserved communities where access to quality healthcare remains limited. The camp provided free medical consultations and medicines to over 400 participants, including female farmers, children and their families. A panel of medical specialists offered consultations across a range of disciplines including gynaecology, paediatrics, nephrology, family medicine, neurology and ophthalmology.
The event was attended by Multan Division Commissioner Amir Kareem Khan, Assistant Commissioner Ashraf Saleh Khan and Babar Khan, the marketing head at MASH, who led the initiative on behalf of the hospital. Also present was Noor Malik, the brand manager at Fatima Fertilizer. The event saw active participation from 100 female farmers, highlighting a strong community engagement and institutional support.
“Sarsabz Tabeer is more than a programme, it is a movement to uplift and enable the women who form the backbone of our agricultural economy, where female participation stands at a significant 67.9 per cent” said Rabel Sadozai, the director of marketing and sales at Fatima Fertilizer. “By adding healthcare to our scope, we are addressing a critical need. True empowerment cannot be achieved without access to basic health services. This collaboration with MASH and the Punjab government marks a key milestone in our mission to deliver dignity, care and opportunity to the women who grow Pakistan.”
Building on its three established pillars of education, skill development and financial empowerment, Fatima Fertilizer has now introduced healthcare as a fourth pillar, aimed at supporting the holistic wellbeing of female farmers across Pakistan.
The Sarsabz Tabeer programme was originally launched to empower female farmers and rural women through vocational training in food processing. Designed to promote financial independence, reduce post-harvest losses and encourage sustainable agricultural practices, the initiative has trained more than 2,000 women in over 15 cities nationwide. Participants have been equipped to add value to their agricultural produce and establish home-based agribusinesses.
In a move to extend further support, Fatima Fertilizer also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Akhuwat Foundation, enabling female farmers to access financial resources, mentorship and entrepreneurial guidance.
The introduction of the healthcare component significantly strengthens Sarsabz Tabeer’s overarching vision of facilitating long-term socio-economic transformation for rural women. With additional medical camps planned in the coming months, the programme continues to play a pivotal role in creating healthier, more resilient farming communities across the country.
