Madressah teacher, school principal booked for attempting to rape students

MUZAFFARGARH: In separate incidents, police arrested a madressah teacher and booked a private school principal for allegedly attempting to rape young students in the Shehr Sultan of Muzaffargarh and Daira Din Panah area of Kot Addu.

In the first case, a madressah teacher in the Shehr Sultan police station limit allegedly attempted to rape two of his students. Station House Officer (SHO) Adeel Sohrani took action and arrested the suspect after a case was registered. District Police Officer Dr Muhammad Rizwan Khan said that those misusing the role of a teacher for such acts do not deserve any leniency. Investigation is ongoing.

In the second incident, the principal of a private school in Hanjrai area of Daira Din Panah in Kot Addu was booked for allegedly attempting to assault a grade 4 girl student in his office.

According to police, the suspect called the student to his office, tried to force himself on the girl and threatened her.

He fled when the student raised alarms and other students and staff intervened. The girl’s mother later filed a complaint at the Daira Din Panah police station.

SHO Sajid Fayyaz said a case under sections 376(iii) and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code had been registered, and the suspect would be arrested soon.

RECOVERED: Police rescued two people who had been kidnapped for ransom and arrested one of the alleged kidnappers in an operation within Sanawan police station limits.

According to a police spokesperson, the incident took place on March 26 at 4am, when two cousins—Khalid Aziz and Naveed Ashraf—were kidnapped at gunpoint from their homes in Sanawan. The kidnappers initially demanded Rs10 million in ransom, but later agreed to Rs700,000.

Police claimed both hostages were rescued safely after the amount was paid. Later, two suspects, including the ringleader, were arrested and confessed to the crime. The police said the rescue was made possible after special teams were formed to trace the suspects. The DPO said the arrested men were under investigation.

PURSE SNATCHER: A woman’s purse was snatched by a man riding a motorcycle in the City Sarwar Shaheed area on Sunday, but the suspect was arrested within three hours with the help of CCTV footage.

According to police, the incident occurred when the woman was entering a street on Layyah-Multan Road. The robber fled with her purse, which contained cash and two mobile phones.

SHO Azhar Haider said that as soon as they were alerted about the incident, they reviewed the CCTV footage, traced the suspect and recovered the stolen items, along with the motorcycle used in the crime. The suspect is under investigation.
