China’s United Nations envoy, Fu Cong, has said his country “regrets the harm done to the hard-won ceasefire”.

“We are gravely concerned about and condemn Israel’s resumption of hostilities in Gaza,” Fu said in a post on X.

“We strongly demand a permanent ceasefire in Gaza,” the Chinese envoy asserted.
