Hamas spokesman Osama Hamdan has told Al Jazeera that Israel was surprised by his organisation’s strict adherence and implementation of the agreed-upon ceasefire, and that the attacks on Gaza are Israel’s attempt to now destroy the agreement.

“If they think such operations will change the agreement, they are delusional,” Hamdan told Al Jazeera.

“Now, as they attempt to destroy this agreement, it will not lead to the result the Americans and the Israelis hope for,” he said.
