The Palestinian foreign ministry has said it “strongly condemns the ongoing brutal attack on our people in Gaza”, Al Jazeera reports.

It said the bombardment showed Israel was trying to “evade its obligations to end the war of genocide and displacement” as it sought to keep its forces in Gaza.

“The ministry affirms that political solutions are key to achieving calm, stopping the aggression, and restoring the political horizon for resolving the conflict,” the ministry added, calling for “urgent international intervention to stop the crime of genocide and the displacement of our people in Gaza.”
