ANP leader laid to rest in Shangla

SHANGLA: Awami National Party provincial deputy general secretary Mutawakil Khan, who was killed in a road accident on Friday, was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard in Barkana, Shahpur, on Saturday.

His funeral was attended by Federal Minister for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs Amir Muqam, ANP provincial president Mian Iftikhar Hussain, ANP secretary general Saleem Khan, local leaders of PPP and other political parties, civil society and people from all walks of life.

Mian Iftikhar Hussain said that Mutawakil Khan was like his brother, who accompanied him during a visit to the district two weeks ago. He said that ANP lost a brave and active leader.

Mutawakil Khan left behind five children, including three sons and two daughters, to mourn his death.
