The International Rescue Committee (IRC) warns that people in Gaza are facing cold temperatures without sufficient heating or proper clothing, putting children at heightened risk of respiratory illnesses, Al Jazeera reports.
“Winter in Gaza has always been harsh, but this year’s suffering is beyond imagination for displaced families,” said Faten Abu Mousa, the aid agency’s child protection manager in the occupied Palestinian territory.
“They are finding it extremely difficult to access basic needs and secure winter clothing. Where winter clothing is available in the market, prices are beyond reach.”
