Palestinians returning to Khan Younis in southern Gaza are not only struggling to find shelter amid the wreckage but are also struggling to access water, reports the Wafa news agency.

Residents say the region’s water and sewage networks are largely destroyed, making water supply irregular and often expensive.

“We used to have our own water pump, but the occupation’s bulldozers, during their ground invasion of Khan Younis, buried the well and placed large amounts of rubble and sand over its opening,” local resident Ayman al-Ashtal told Wafa.

Resident Islam al-Madhoun added: “These days, we are living without water, and you can imagine what a day without water is like when you have children and elderly people.”
