Aaron David Miller, a former Middle East adviser to Republican and Democratic administrations, said US President Donald Trump had given Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu a “huge pass” with his Gaza announcement.

“He validated almost every right-wing fantasy in Israel,” Miller said.
