Red Crescent rescues elderly man after 7 days of siege on West Bank’s Tulkarem refugee camp

Palestinian Red Crescent teams successfully saved an elderly man from the Tulkarem refugee camp after he endured seven days of isolation without food, water, or medical care, as Israeli forces continued their siege on the area, Wafa reports.

The rescue operation, led by the director of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) in Tulkarem, Manal Al-Hafi, brought relief to 70-year-old Abdul Karim al-Ofi, who was trapped in his home during the Israeli military’s ongoing onslaught.

The elderly man was unable to receive assistance due to the blockade and the Israeli forces’ restrictions on humanitarian access. By the time PRCS teams reached al-Ofi, his condition had significantly worsened, which necessitated his immediate transfer to the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital in Tulkarem, before being moved to one of his relative’s homes.
