The first young patients expected to pass through the Rafah crossing with Egypt to seek specialised medical treatment abroad have begun to arrive at a hospital in Gaza in preparation for travel, Al Jazeera reports.

The Palestine Media Centre posted video to social media showing parents and children getting ready in what will mark the first medical evacuation since the ceasefire, and the first transit through the Rafah crossing since it was taken over by Israeli forces and closed in May 2024.
