Israel’s withdrawal of an agreement with the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA), which would halt the organisation’s aid operations in Gaza, would worsen the humanitarian situation in the enclave, the Foreign Office says.

During a press briefing, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said: “Pakistan condemns the Israeli withdrawal from 1967 agreement between Israel and UNRWA and its efforts to hamper UNRWA’s ability to fulfil its mandate of providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza valley.

“This ban would lead to further instability and worsening of humanitarian situation in Gaza as the region and its people are in dire need of humanitarian assistance and support,” he added.
