The artillery shelling is taking place east of the Bureij refugee camp and the city of Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, according to Al Jazeera Arabic.

Israeli gunboats stationed off the coast are also reportedly opening fire at the shoreline near Gaza City in the north.

No casualties have been reported in either incident so far.
