Khaled Nabhan, also known as Abu Diaa, was among those killed in the attack in Nuseirat last Friday according to several news reports, which have been verified by Al Jazeera’s Sanad Unit.
A video of Nabhan cradling his deceased granddaughter had become viral in the early months of Israel’s genocide in Gaza. In the weeks and months after his loss, Nabhan turned to assisting rescuers and medics take care of injured Palestinians while trying to cope with his grief.
