Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar says he told his French counterpart, Jean-Noel Barrot, that Israel was not “violating the ceasefire understandings but rather enforcing them in response to Hezbollah’s violations”, Al Jazeera reports.
“The presence of Hezbollah operatives south of the Litani [River] is a fundamental violation of the agreement and they must move north,” he added.
France’s Foreign Ministry said earlier that Barrot stressed “the need for all sides to respect the ceasefire in Lebanon” in the phone call.
