TAXILA: A ten-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted in New city area in the limits of Wah Saddar police station on Wednesday.
Police sources said the girl, a resident of a slum area, was lured into giving alms by a man who took him on his motorcycle to an under construction house where he sexually assaulted her.
Later the girl was taken to THQ hospital where she was given necessary treatment.
Wah Saddar police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
SSP investigation Zunaira Azfar along with SP Potohar division Waqas Khan reached the crime scene and launched an investigation.
The police officials recorded the statement of the victim and collected CCTV footage of the residential area.
