LAKKI MARWAT: A man was shot dead by his son over a family dispute in Meenakhel locality of Lakki city here on Tuesday.

Police said Babar Rehman, who lived with his divorced mother in Mohallah Surkikhel, opened fire on his father, Faiz Dil Khan, 55, inside his house, killing him on the spot.

They said the killer escaped and the body was shifted to the Government City Hospital for postmortem.

Sikandar Ayaz, another son of the deceased, told the police that his father had divorced his mother, and his brother was not happy over it. The police registered a case against the killer.

FUMIGATION: Anti-dengue spray was carried out in different parts of the Lakki Marwat district on Tuesday.

On the directives of deputy commissioner Fazal Akbar, municipal workers launched fumigation drive in the District Headquarters Hospital, judicial complex and other towns, said an official.

He said other parts of the district would also be fumigated, adding the administration had also constituted teams to implement dengue-preventive measures. The official said government departments had been directed to launch dengue awareness activities.
