NAROWAL: A man allegedly shot his two brothers dead over a property dispute at Malomahy village in Daska tehsil, Sialkot district, on Wednesday.
According to police, Shams, a resident of Malomahy village, had a property dispute with his brothers – Naseer Ahmed (26) and Muhammad Boota (21) and their father Latif.
On Wednesday, both Naseer and Boota were going to their fields, when Shams, who was already hiding there, opened fire on his brothers and fled the scene, leaving them critically injured.
The injured youths succumbed to their bullet wounds while they were being shifted to the Daska Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.
On being informed of the double murder, Daska Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Saadat Ali, reached the spot with a heavy contingent of police.
Daska Sadar police’s investigation team collected evidence from the crime scene and recorded statements of locals and later registered an FIR against Shams on the report of Latif, the father of the slain brothers.
Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Hassan Iqbal ordered setting up police pickets in the district and formed a team headed by the DSP for immediate arrest of the fleeing suspect. The police handed over the bodies to the family members of the deceased brothers after the postmortem examination and other legal formalities.
