SWABI: The passing out parade of over 425 former Khasadar and Levies personnel was held at the Police Training School, Swabi, here on Tuesday.

Mardan division police chief Yaseen Farooq was the chief guest.

Former Khasadar and Levies men from Khyber, Mohmand, Orakazi, South Waziristan and Tank districts got the training.

On the occasion, DIG Farooq said the police had the capability and professionalism to meet new challenges. He said there were still some security challenges in the newly-merged districts and the professional training imparted to former Levies and Khasadar personnel would help them perform better policing in their respective regions.

“We are proud that the Khasadar and Levies are becoming part of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police,” he said.

Police training school’s director Niaz Mohammed Khan Yousufzai said so far 3,755 former Khasadar and Levies personnel had received training from the institution.
