KARACHI: The National Commission for Human Rights (NCHR) has shown its concern about the horrible violation of human rights that recently occurred in Naukot, district Mirpurkhas, where two females including a minor were abducted, stripped and paraded naked before being raped.
In a statement issued here on Friday, NCHR’s Anis Haroon said: “As a state institution, NCHR is perturbed on the increasing cases of human rights violation. The NCHR-Sindh is in touch with Mirpurkhas SSP Asad Choudhry, who has reportedly arrested 12 people nominated by the victim’s family.”
It added that the SSP informed the NCHR member from Sindh that an FIR was lodged under the Anti-Terrorism Act of 1997.
The commission urged the inspector general of police, Sindh to take severe action against those involved in the incident.
