Land dispute claims four lives in Kohat

KOHAT: A land dispute claimed four lives and left four others, including a woman, injured near the Ghamkol refugee camp No 3 here on Friday.

The Junglekhel police station officials said Irfan, Adnan and Ehsan along with their father Umar Farooq opened fire at their cousins, killing four of them on the spot. Four others, including a woman, were injured.

They identified the deceased as Farhan, Kashif, Riaz and Zaman. The injured were identified as Fayyaz, Noman, Muhib and Farhat Bibi.

The incident took place soon after the Friday prayers.

The police officials said the bodies and the wounded were shifted to the KDA Teaching Hospital. A critically wounded person was referred to a Peshawar hospital.

The police registered an FIR against the assailants on the report of the injured persons.

A large number of people gathered at the KDA hospital’s emergency to collect the bodies and attend to the wounded.
