BAHAWALNAGAR: Minchinabad police have booked a constable for thrashing a woman banker, snatching her purse and tearing off her clothes for rejecting his marriage proposal.

According to the first information report (FIR), ‘A’ of Mohallah Munsafiwala, who worked as a senior credit officer in a local bank, was returning home from her workplace when Waseem, a police constable posted in Lahore, and a resident of Iqbal Nagar, riding a bike intercepted her.

The FIR said Waseem snatched her purse which contained two mobile phones, documents and cash and tried to kidnap her.

It said as ‘A’ offered resistance, the suspect tore her clothes and injured her.

However, Waseem fled with her purse when some passersby rushed to rescue her after hearing her screams.
