RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has chalked out its largest flight operation for Skardu and Gilgit to facilitate tourists as schedule of several flights for the region has been disturbed in recent days due to bad weather.

A spokesman for the airlines said PIA had planned a special flight operation as it would operate six flights to Skardu on Saturday (today). Bad weather has affected several flights to the northern region over the past few days.

The spokesman said two flights would operate from Karachi and one each from Lahore, Sialkot, and Faisalabad besides one Air Safari flight.

In addition to the regular flight operation, two more flights will also depart from Islamabad to Gilgit. The purpose of special flights is to facilitate the movement of tourists during the Eid holidays.

PIA is taking special measures to promote tourism in the northern region, the spokesman said.
