Farewell reception for Kyrgyz envoy

Zahid Latif Khan, CEO ISE Towers REIT Management Company Limited, formerly Islamabad Stock Exchange, hosted a farewell reception for Kyrgyz Ambassador Erik Beishembiev.

The guests from the Diplomatic Corps included Ambassador of Turkmenistan and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps Ata Atadjan Movlamov, Ambassador of Romania Nicolae Goia, Turkish envoy Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, Palestinian Ambassador Ahmad Jawad Rabaei, Kazakh Ambassador Yerzhan Kistafin and Jordanian envoy Ibrahim Al Madani.

Representatives from the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and other dignitaries also attended the event.

Zahid Latif Khan welcomed the guests and said Pakistan attached immense importance to its relations with Kyrgyzstan. There is tremendous potential for enhanced bilateral trade and cooperation with Central Asia.

He said Kyrgyzstan and Pakistan were both largely agrarian economies that could create a wide range of marketable agri-based raw and value-added products for trade and consumption within the two countries.

Ambassador Beishembiev said he had spent more than four years in Islamabad and was grateful for the hospitality of the Pakistani people.

Speaking of the positive impressions he had of the country and people, he said his country greatly valued relations with Pakistan that was why it sought further diversification and strengthening of these ties.

The ambassador said there were approximately 10,000 Pakistani students studying in Kyrgyzstan.

The Central Asian region is rich is oil, gas, mineral and water resources and the entire broader region can benefit from these resources, he added.
