Three education officers face harassment charge

TOBA TEK SINGH: Jhang Education Authority Chief Executive Officer Nasim Ahmad Zahid has suspended three assistant education officers over charges of harassing a female teacher of a government girls school of Mochiwala circle, misconduct, inefficiency and lack of interest in their official duties.

CEO Zahid said a two-member committee comprising Basti Malah Government Girls High School Principal Dr Imrana Muzammil and Athara Hazari Deputy District Education Officer Khalid Mahmood had been formed to look into charges leveled by a citizen in his application to the CEO office.

The CEO said though the teacher was yet to record her statement, he suspended the AEOs so that she (the teacher) or inquiry committee members felt no pressure.

MURDER: Arrouti police arrested on Tuesday a man along with his three sons on charges of murdering his daughter for honour in Pirmahal’s Chak 750-GB.

District police spokesperson Attaullah told the media that accused Ghulam Farid had informed police that his daughter Rabia had been died of heart attack.

He said in the meantime police got information that the girl had been strangled as she married the man of her choice.

Police shifted the body to the Pirmahal THQ Hospital for autopsy and arrested suspects Ghulam Farid and sons Abdul Ghafoor, Nausher and Maqsood.
