ISLAMABAD: Three people, including a four-year-old boy, were murdered in separate incidents in the capital.

The child identified as Mohammad Rehan was murdered under unexplained circumstances, police said, adding Mohammad Atif, father of the victim, alleged that his wife along with two other people murdered his son with a knife and also shot and injured him.

Station House Officer of Khanna police station Mohammad Kamal said according to the victim’s father the suspect along with two other persons called him to the Sohan bridge where they stabbed Rehan. He alleged that he also sustained bullet injuries.

The police registered a case against the complainant’s former wife and arrested her along with her second husband from Sargodha and brought them to Islamabad for further investigation.

The SHO said during preliminary investigation both suspects denied the allegation.

The woman said her ex-husband subjected her to torture over petty issues due to which she decided to take a divorce from him, he said, adding Atif was also called for interrogation to establish facts of the case.

Furthermore, a man died during a robbery at Dhok Kalakhan, police said, adding the victim was identified as Mohammad Manshah.

Manshah along with his wife, sister-in-law and mother-in-law was present at the expressway when two persons riding a motorcycle held them up on gunpoint.

The suspects opened fire and as a result Manshah was injured.

He was later taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The suspects managed to escape.

Another man was shot dead over a family dispute in I-11/1, the police said, adding the victim was identified as Riaz.

Industrial Area Homicide Unit’s SI Niaz Khan said the victim and the suspects were relatives and natives of Mansehra.

Riaz, a labourer by profession, had settled in Islamabad to earn a livelihood, while his family was residing in Mansehra, he said.

Quoting the victim’s brother, Afzal, the SI said his relative sent a marriage proposal for Riaz’s sister, residing in Mansehra, which was denied by elders.

As a result, the relatives got annoyed and murdered him in Islamabad, he added.
