PPP sees more fissures in PTI

LAHORE: The Pakistan Peoples Party sees more fragmentation in the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf after the formal creation of the Jehangir Khan Tareen group a day ago.

“The nation had been promised of riddance from the PTI after Eidul Fitr and the foundation for the purpose has been laid by the Tareen group as more splits are expected in the ruling party sooner than later,” PPP parliamentary leader Syed Hassan Murtaza said in a statement here on Wednesday.

He said the situation is alarming for those who availed themselves of relief (in accountability cases) by assuring the PTI of letting it complete its five-year term in power, a reference to a statement of Maryam Nawaz Sharif in which she had stated that no no-confidence motion would be supported against the PTI government to allow it to complete its constitutional term.

He said the political parties supporting the incumbent rulers would have to come out in the open as otherwise the PTI government would fail to get budgets approved both in the National and Punjab Assembly if the Tareen group decided not to vote for the budget motions.

He predicted that the PTI would fall like the house of cards as after Sindh and Balochistan, a wave of change has begun in Punjab PTI too.
