BAJAUR: The residents of Charmang on Monday held a protest rally against MNA Guldad Khan for ignoring their area in development schemes.
The protesters threatened to hold a massive protest outside his house if the lawmaker failed to materialise his promises made with them during the election campaign.
Scorers of residents of various localities attended the rally held in Kootki. Several PTI activists were also among the protesters, who were holding placards inscribed with different slogans.
The protesters also chanted slogans against the lawmaker. They said that PTI MNA Guldad Khan had promised with them during the July 2018 general elections campaign to renovate roads, health and education facilities, electricity system and basic infrastructure in the region.
They said that he had promised to launch scores of new schemes in the region after winning the polls. However, they said that the lawmaker failed to allocate even a single penny for development of Charmang valley.
Tribal elders Malik Bilal Khan, Malik Zar Wali Khan and PTI local leaders Miraj Khan, Abdul Akbar Khan, Abdul Wahab, Norooz Khan and others addressed the rally.
The speakers strongly criticised the lawmaker for ignoring the region in development schemes. They said that ignoring the region in development schemes by the PTI lawmaker was a matter of serious concern for them as its residents had played a key role in the victory of Guldad Khan in 2018 general elections.
They alleged that the MNA received huge funds for development schemes in his constituency but he was yet to launch even a single scheme in the region during his three years tenure which disappointed both the local people and workers of the ruling party.
The speakers said that the local people and PTI workers would not remain silent over the MNA’s discriminatory behaviour with Charmang region in development schemes.
