ISLAMABAD: The Khanna police have arrested two persons allegedly involved in robberies and street crime and recovered snatched mobile phones and weapons from their possession, a police spokesman said.
During the preliminary investigation, the suspects confessed to their involvement in incidents of looting people on Islamabad Expressway and surrounding areas.
Separate cases have been registered in Khanna police station against the suspects and further investigation is underway, he added.
Meanwhile, police on Sunday arrested 24 outlaws, including 14 beggars and their handlers.
Sabzi Mandi police arrested two suspects and recovered two 30-bore pistols along with ammunition from their possession.
Koral police nabbed a person and recovered 210 gram hashish from him while Tarnol police recovered 900 gram hashish from a person and put him behind bars.
Karachi Company police arrested a suspect and recovered 10 litres of alcohol from him while Margalla police nabbed a woman allegedly involved in theft.
Nilor police arrested a person and recovered a 9mm pistol along with ammunition from him.
Koral police recovered one 30-bore pistol from a person and arrested him while Tarnol police held a man after recovering 720 gram hashish from him.
Banigala police also arrested a person and recovered 10 litres of alcohol from him.
Cases have been registered against the suspects and further investigation is underway.
The 14 beggars and their two handlers were picked from various areas of the city during a special crackdown.
