ISLAMABAD: Two persons were killed in a road accident in the capital, police said on Monday.

The accident took place on G.T. Road in the area of Noon police station.According to the police, Mohammad Hussain and his niece Sobia Bibi were traveling on a motorcycle when a speeding dumper hit them as a result of which they were seriously injured.

The dumper driver managed to escape, the police said, adding that later the injured were shifted to the hospital where they were pronounced dead.

On the other hand, culprits looted cash and valuables from different areas of the capital.

In the first incident, two armed men looted cash from a delivery boy.

According to the police, the robbers intercepted Hashim Ali Akbar in E-11/4 where he was going to deliver an order. The culprits held him at gunpoint and snatched Rs10,000 cash from him and escaped.

In another incident, culprits stole cash and valuables worth Rs450,000 from the house of Nasir Ishtiaq in Jhangi Syedan. Burglars broke into the house in the absence of the residents and escaped with cash and valuables.

Similarly, burglars stole cash and valuables worth Rs300,000 from the house of Zubair Mehmood in Humak and mobile cards worth Rs120,000 from a shop in F-8/4. An office in Tarnol was also burgled while six vehicles were stolen from the capital, police said.

A vehicle valuing Rs450,000 was stolen from I-8/1 while two cars were lifted from the parking area of a hospital in H-8 and Ghauri Town.
