Police use drones to monitor ban on kite flying in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: Police have started using drones and other cameras to trace violators of the ban on kite flying and selling.

A police spokesman said a case will also be registered against the owner of the house and building which were spotted being used for kite-flying.

He said the police have decided to launch a crackdown on Basant celebrations by monitoring from the roofs of houses, plazas, hotels and buildings across the city through drones and other cameras.

Evidence of kite flying is being collected from houses, plazas, hotels and buildings through video monitoring.

The spokesman said that location will be traced on the basis of evidence obtained from drones and other cameras and legal action will be taken against the violators.

The police spokesman has appealed to parents to prevent their children from kite flying.

He also appealed to the citizens to immediately call 15 to report firing in the air.
