Police save 12 from honeytrap

SUKKUR: Kandhkot police foiled criminal gangs’ bid to trap 12 men in a honeytrap they had set for them by using women or men, who could mimic female voice on mobile phone, and inviting would-be victims to come to katcha area and get kidnapped, according to police officials.

Spokesman for SSP Kandhkot-Kashmore said in a press statement issued on Monday that the criminal gangs of Teghani and Jagirani tribesmen were involved in the honeytrap but police stopped the would-be victims from coming to the area with the help of latest technology.

Police warned them that they were being trapped through fake friendship on mobile phones and they would be kidnapped by criminal gangs as soon as they reached the katcha area, said the spokesman.

He said that some of the potential victims were identified as Razzak (Thatta), Mustafa (Arif Wala), Rafiq (Ghotki), Shabbir (Lahore), Shahid (Tando Mohammad Khan), Asif (Dera Allahyar), Khalid (Lahore), Yaqoob (Layyah), Yousuf (Matiari) and Irshad (Lahore).
