PTCL group announces Rs1.9bn virus relief package

ISLAMABAD: The PTCL group, which includes Ufone, U Microfinance Bank and PTCL, has pledged a comprehensive coronavirus relief and support package worth Rs1.9bn, it announced on Monday.

A major portion of the package will go towards providing subsidised and free services to customers, so that they can stay connected virtually. PTCL Razakaar Trust, the employees of PTCL and Ufone have contributed Rs100 million to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund.

PTCL is providing support to coronavirus affected families through its Razakaar Trust in the shape of a package comprising food items, medicines and preventive gear in 25 cities across Pakistan.

The company in a statement said it would also provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) for frontline workers and sponsor hospital beds for virus patients.
