KARAK: The Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-F lawmakers from Karak have accused the provincial health minister of interfering in the recruitment process of Class-IV employees in hospitals and announced to launch a protest movement against him.

This was stated by MPAs Malik Zafar Azam and Mian Nisar Gul Kakakhel while speaking to mediapersons here on Tuesday. The party’s district office-bearers were also present.

The lawmakers alleged that over 70 vacant posts of class-IV employees had already been sold out with Rs400,000 per vacancy. They said recruitment on class-IV posts was the responsibility of the medical superintendents in consultation with the local elected representatives.

The lawmakers lamented that they were neglected in the whole process of recruitment, which was an insult to the mandate of the people.

The JUI-F lawmakers said the provincial health minister was doing the politics of vendetta and resolved to resist his decisions. They demanded that merit policy should be strictly followed in the recruitment process of class-IV employees.

The lawmakers said they had already written a letter to the deputy commissioner regarding their reservations over the alleged interference of the provincial health minister in the recruitment of employees. They said if the health minister did not shun this practice then they would move court.
