Karzai alleges interference

KABUL, June 20: Afghan President Hamid Karzai has accused Pakistan of interfering in his country’s internal affairs. According to an Online news agency, Mr Karzai said in a speech to a shura of ulema in Kabul that Pakistan was backing anti-government elements in his country. The agency quoted a Radio Tehran broadcast as its source.

Mr Karzai, according to the report, said that Pakistan had threatened the Taliban that members of their families would be handed over to the US if they did not fight against Afghanistan.
