LAKKI MARWAT: A man and his wife died of an electric shock in Gandi Khankhel locality of Naurang town here on Monday.

A villager told journalists that wife of Hazrat Ali was electrocuted when she tried to switch on an electric stabilizer. “The woman’s husband rushed to rescue her but he also suffered electric shock and both died instantly,” he maintained.

The villager said the deceased belonged to a poor family and they had left behind four children. Later, both were laid to rest in the village’s graveyard. A large number of people attended their funeral prayers.

OUTLAWS ARRESTED: Police claimed to have arrested seven proclaimed offenders, including a woman, in different actions on Monday.

A police official said several parties raided suspected places in the limits of their respective police stations and captured wanted men. He said the raids were carried out after DPO Asif Gohar received information about presence of outlaws in the rural areas. The arrested outlaws included Syed Wali, Manshah, Khalil Shah, Hukam Din, Kalimullah, Imdad and Aasia Bibi, he maintained, saying the proclaimed offenders were wanted by police in cases of heinous nature.
