LAKKI MARWAT: The local chapter of All Class-IV Employees Association has decided to participate in a protest meeting scheduled to be held in Peshawar on Tuesday (tomorrow) and highlight their demands, including timescale formula, increase in salaries and residential plots.

The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the association’s president Pir Ghulam here on Sunday. Other office-bearers and class-IV employees attended the meeting.

Mr Ghulam told mediapersons that the provincial leadership had submitted a charter of demands to the government, but no action was taken so far. He urged the government to approve timescale formula for class-IV employees and double their salaries.

He also demanded of the government to merge ad hoc relief allowance in the basic pay and give plots to the employees on easy installments in the government-owned housing schemes.

MAN KILLED: A man was killed and two passers-by sustained injuries in a firing incident here on Sunday.

Police said that one Kalimullah, a resident of Kotka Atlas, was shot at and wounded allegedly by his rivals in the busy market in Naurang town. Two passers-by, namely Anwar and Nasrullah, were also injured in the firing incident.

The injured were referred to a hospital in Bannu where Kalimullah was pronounced dead.

His brother, Faizullah, told the local police in his preliminary report that Kalimullah had exchanged harsh words with the attackers during a football match a day before. He said that the attackers came on a motorbike and opened firing on his brother.

The police have registered a case against the accused, including Zakir and Ahmad.
