KARACHI: The Sindh cabinet will meet on Monday in which it will deliberate upon the agriculture and youth policies and accord approval to the prosecutor general’s appointment, officials said on Sunday.

They said the meeting of the Sindh cabinet will be held at 11am at the new Sindh Secretariat building.

According to the agenda of the meeting notified on Saturday, the draft of the much anticipated Sindh Agriculture Policy 2018-2030 would be presented before the cabinet.

The officials said the draft was a product of extensive efforts by the agriculture ministry and experts, which would be reviewed by the cabinet and could be finalised if it deemed it fit to be tabled before the provincial legislature.

Besides, said the officials, the Sindh Youth Policy, which was waiting to be approved for years, was also scheduled to be discussed in the meeting. They said that it was quite possible that the policy would get approval in Monday’s sitting.

The broad agenda of the cabinet meeting also carries appointment of the prosecutor general of Sindh.

Besides, it would decide about repatriation or nomination of judicial officers as presiding officers of the labour courts.

The terms and conditions for the full-time members of the Sindh Human Rights Commission (SHRC) would also be reviewed during the meeting.

The meeting would offer reconsideration of the Sindh Regularisation of Teachers Appointed on Contract Basis Bill, 2018 in light of the observations made by the governor of Sindh.

Besides, amendment to the Constitution of Sindh Sports Board Ordinance No-VIII 1980 would be discussed and approved in the meeting.
