ISPR rubbishes rumours of security threats in Karachi, Hyderabad

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Wednesday rubbished 'fake messages' circulating on social media alerting citizens of security threats in Karachi and Hyderabad being attributed to the military's media wing.

"There are fake messages being circulated on social media attributed to ISPR, conveying fake threat warnings or emergency contact numbers. It is clarified that ISPR communicates only through official website/accounts. Nothing is shared through WhatsApp," stated an ISPR press release.

The messages being circulated on WhatsApp advise residents of Karachi and Hyderabad to avoid public places, including shopping centres, railway stations, mosques without security, shrines, marriage halls and public parks due to an extreme security threat.

"All are suggested not to circulate fake messages without cross-checking it on the official ISPR website/accounts," the ISPR statement said.
