LARKANA: About 580 kilos of fine quality charas (hashish) valued at around Rs30 million in the international market was seized from a Karachi-bound coach, which was intercepted by the Qambar police on a tip-off near Noor Wah (irrigation channel) on Friday.
Qambar-Shahdadkot SSP Sajid Sadozai told a press conference in his office that a police team headed by Qambar DSP Sultan Chandio and SHO Asghar Kango intercepted the coach (JB-3206) and recovered packets of charas from its secret cavities.
The coach, which had no passengers, was impounded but its driver managed to escaped, the SSP said.
Sindh IGP A.D. Khowaja has announced a Rs100,000 reward while the Larkana DIG and Qambar-Shahdadkot SSP have announced a Rs50,000 reward for the raiding team.
