WE have lost a wonderful TV and stage artist in Farooq Zameer. I did not know Farooq Zameer till I joined Libas magazine where he was working as editor.

I guess he worked there for a short time. We overlapped for about 20 days when I went over to replace him. Farooq was a wonderful man. With his husky voice, serious face and very down-to-earth nature, he appeared very professional.

He was a chain smoker and that seemed to be his handicap as he could not smoke in Libas office. Farooq’s absence from the drama world, stage and TV, will long remain unfilled.

May his soul rest in peace.
