Two found strangled, one hanged in house

SANGHAR: An elderly man and his daughter-in-law were found strangled in a room where a man’s body was found hanging from the ceiling in the M.A. Jinnah area of Sanghar city on Friday morning.

Circumstantial evidence caused the area police to believe that Imran Yousufzai, 30, committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling with a rope after strangling his grandfather, Rehmatullah Yousufzai, 90, and the victim’s daughter-in-law, Ms Shazia, 30, the area police said.

They said Imran’s uncle, Ghulam Murtaza Yousufzai, had divorced the alleged killer’s mother some 20 years ago. Since then Imran lived the life of an abandoned child mostly staying at various shrines, they added.

According to the police, Imran has left a note which read that he had avenged his mother’s divorce. They said the suspect tried to strangle the deceased woman’s one-year-old daughter, Shumaima, but she managed to free herself from his clutches and slipped out of the house. The toddler was admitted to the Sanghar Civil Hospital for treatment. No FIR was registered till the filing of the report.

The bodies were brought to the hospital for a post-mortem examination.

Ghulam Murtaza Yousafzai told the media that Imran had given sleeping pills to his victims before executing his plan.
