HYDERABAD: Whereabouts of a former union council nazim belonging to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Mehboob Abro, could not be known four days after he, along with his two other relatives, was taken away allegedly by some Rangers personnel.

The victim’s nephews, Darya Khan Abro and Nadir, told Dawn on Friday that they and their uncle, Mehboob Abro, had been picked up on Monday (Nov 24) by Rangers officials from near Defence phase-II.

“We were handcuffed blindfolded and then driven to Karachi,” they said, adding that the officials brought them back to Hyderabad and let off near new Sabzi Mandi on Wednesday but did not release Mehboob Abro, saying that he would also be freed soon.

Darya Khan Abro said they were harassed during detention.
