PESHAWAR, June 9: The NWFP education department intends to take action against those private schools which have failed to close for summer vacation despite a severe heat wave gripping the Peshawar valley and other areas of the province for the last one week.

All government schools in the province have closed down for summer vacation on June 1. However, some private schools are continuing their working, thereby posing a serious threat to the children.

According to an official statement issued on Monday, the education department is going to cancel the registration of all those private schools, which failed to follow the orders of the government.

The department has constituted various teams under the directives of Education Minister Maulana Fazal Ali to collect data of all such schools which have failed to comply with the orders.

The teams were formed after the department received complaints from the public quarters that some private schools had failed to comply with the government orders and remained open during the summer vacation.

The department has directed the management of all these schools to immediately close as the scorching sun was threatening the lives of small children.

TEACHERS: Meanwhile, the minister has directed the concerned authorities to take action against those teachers who were working for different NGOs.

On receiving complaints that certain teachers had ignored their duties and were working for various NGOs in different capacities, the minister directed to collect the details of all such teachers and prepare cases against them.
