SIALKOT, April 30: The Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Satrah, (Daska) has been running without intermediate classes despite approval for the last six years.

The high school had been upgraded to higher secondary school about six years ago, but since then no teaching staff had been appointed. No other than the students are the worst-sufferers owing to the negligence of officials of the Education department.

Social circles and the parents of students have urged upon Sialkot District Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid to take stock of the situation.

Meanwhile, the Government Girls High School, Hundal, (Sialkot tehsil) has been devoid of science teacher for about a decade.

Notables of the area told newsmen that the school had been upgraded from elementary to high school level about 10 years ago. Till now, they said, no science teacher could be recruited, forcing students to hire tutors, an additional burden on their parents.

Moreover, two arts teachers appointed only two years ago for high classes, had them transferred to places of their choice, they alleged.

Similarly, a school teacher had performed the duties of the principal for five years as the principal had her transferred to some other school. The situation became bad to worse when the teacher-turned principal also had her transferred a year ago.

Students and the school administration are facing problems due to the absence of the principal and the required teaching staff.

The area people claimed that thieves had taken away school’s all pedestal fans, electric water motor and students’ fees worth thousands of rupees due to improper security a few days ago.
