OKARA, April 30: Farmers are facing hardships as fertilizer dealers have boycotted all brands of the National Fertilizer Corporation (NFC) for the last 10 days in protest against the unjust attitude of the Sahiwal regional office.
Fertilizers Association president Mian Muhammad Munir said that we had repeatedly contacted the NFC’s office in Sahiwal to mend the situation but to no avail.
He alleged that the Sahiwal regional office was not implementing its policy of the first come first serve.
Mian Munir said a delegation of the Fertilizer Association would soon meet the high-ups of the NFC in this regard.
one killed: A man was killed while his friend sustained serious injuries on Wednesday in an accident on the GT Road near railway level crossing at Chak 3/4-L.
Imdad Shah along with his friend was on the way to Sahiwal by his car (LOS-282) when a bus (FDY-5695) at high speed collided with it. Consequently, Imdad died on the spot while Ghulam Yasin received critical wounds. He was admitted to the local DHQ Hospital.
ID CARDS: The Nadra has terminated its policy of delivering the computerized national identity cards at the doorstep.
This was stated in a handout issued by district registrar Khurshid Ahmad Bodla here on Wednesday.
He said those who had submitted the ID forms should now contact the registrar office in this respect.
WELCOMED: Farmers Association of Pakistan (FAP) member Chaudhry Muhammad Maqsood Jat on Wednesday welcomed the relief package of power tariff for agri-tubewells.
However, he demanded that small farmers should also be given peter engines and tractors on instalment at nominal interests.
