ISLAMABAD, April 30: Pakistan has arrested six “high-profile” Al Qaeda suspects who were allegedly planning a terror attack in Pakistan, the interior ministry said on Wednesday.

“During a raid on Tuesday in Karachi we arrested six Al Qaeda suspects including Waleed Mohammad bin Attash,” the spokesman said. “They were planning a terrorist attack in Pakistan that has been foiled.”

Some 150 kilograms of high-powered explosives and a large cache of ammunition were found on the men, the spokesman said.
