KARACHI, April 30: Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad said on Wednesday that all available resources would be utilised for elimination of polio from the province.

Talking to a WHO team, led by its regional director, Dr Hussain A. Gezairy, the governor announced the establishment of a cell, headed by his principal secretary Brig. Akhtar Zamin, in this regard.

Dr Ishratul Ibad said in the anti-polio campaign people belonging to all walks of life would be activated.

He said besides the cell setup at the Governor’s House, he would personally monitor the situation.

The principal secretary informed that on instruction of the governor a children’s hospital in North Karachi is being made operational which had been pending for many years and said that the hospital would be made a centre for anti-polio activities.—PPI
